6 month pictures with Mom and Dad:

We went for our six month check up today and Dylan is 15 pounds 4 ounces and 26 3/4 inches long. Dr. Keathley said he was healthy, long, and lean. She said she couldn't believe how he weighed as much as he did being as "busy" as he was today. She said, "Is this normal for him?" I chuckled and replied, "Yes, ma'am!" He was rolling over on the table, ripping the paper into shreds, talking, and squirming EVERYWHERE! We have a squirmy wormy on our hands!

Our Dylan is still the best little boy in the world! He has personality oozing out his tiny body!

Here are some of his lastest accomplishments:

-He has tried the following foods and likes them all: sweet potatoes, green beans, squash, and bananas. He prefers the bananas mixed in his rice cereal for breakfast. I think they may be a little too sweet on their own.

-He can sit up by himself for a few seconds, and sits up alone with the boppy supporting him.
-He LOVES to give kisses!

-He is transitioning himself from nursing 5 times a day to 4 times a day. It is amazing how much more time that 30 minutes gives us!
-He reaches for someone to take him and that melts mommy's heart!

-He isn't much of a napper, but I guess I would rather him sleep his normal 10 hours at night than nap all day. He takes 2-3 naps ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Dylan,

We are so happy that you are growing up so very healthy. We enjoy every moment with you. We love when you give us kisses, reach for us to pick you up, smile with those dimples and two bottom teeth, and talk SO BIG to us! You have blessed us more than we could ever imagine. We don't know what we did without you and we thank God everyday for you! Happy "HALF YEAR" birthday!

Five Months and Full of it!

Yes, at 5 months old, our son is FULL OF IT! He has so much personality. He smiles constantly and loves to play! I wanted to share Dylan's 5 month pictures. We have introduced a few new toys at our house: the activity jumper, and the johnny jump up, He likes both of them, but hasn't quite figured out the whole "I can use my legs to bounce" concept. I guess these toys are one way for him to figure it out, along with how to hold his body up better.

Dylan, here are milestones that we are noticing:

-You are reaching for things and grabbing your toys. Everything you hold or even your hands go to your mouth!
-You can pull your pacifier out of your mouth and put it back in!
-You rolled from back to tummy last month, and this month tummy to back. 1-30-10
-You are starting to take a little bit longer of a morning nap in the swing, so Mommy can get some things done around the house!
-You like to grab Mommy's hair.
-You think its a game when Mommy or Daddy get close to your face for you to open your mouth and bite our nose! And yes, those two bottom teeth are sharp!
-You love to stick your feet in your mouth!
-You are finally figuring out that your elbows help you hold your head up when you are laying on your tummy.
-You like to sit up or stand up.
-You can follow us around the room.
-You continue to become more and more attached to your blankie!
-When you aren't happy, you arch your back and scoot around, we like to call it the "Buckin' Bronco"
-You laugh when we tickle your tummy and squeal with excitement when something is funny!

We did a few of his 5 month photos for Valentine's Day, since it's just around the corner!

Catching up

The holidays were such a busy time that I am just now getting around to blogging and boy have we been busy this last month! Dylan will be 5 months old the end of January! I think that the time between his 3rd and 4th month he has done the most "changing". He rolled over for the first time (back to front) 12-10-09, started sleeping in his own room 12-9-09, cut 2 teeth 12-30-09 & 1-4-10 (yes I know that's incredibly early) and began eating some rice cereal 12-28-09! He smiles ALL THE TIME, and is truly the happiest baby on the block! Christmas was so much fun with him, and I can't wait to spend the holidays with him when he actually understands what is going on!

Three Month Thrills

The best Santa and Mrs. Claus I have ever seen! He looks so sweet all bundled up! This was on our trip to Branson. They were at Branson Landing! Love it!

I can't believe that our baby boy is is 3 months old!

Dylan, here are your 3 month milestones:

-you weigh 11lbs. 13.6oz.

-when we hold your hands and pull, you want to sit up

-you found your hands! (11-25-09) you watch them and bring them to your mouth to suck on your fists

-you like to watch yourself kicking those legs!

-you went to Sunday morning Bible class for the first time (11-4-09)

-you love looking at yourself in the mirror! that is your favorite part of Bible class too!

-you love Mommy and Daddy to read books to you!

-you eat 5 times a day and sleep through the night!

-you had your first cold (12-2-09)

-your eyes are lightening to the most beautiful shade of blue!

-you have a really excited noise/laugh that you do, you did it first for Grandma (11-28-09)

We are just so excited to spend the holiday season with Dylan. He is going to make it so special and fun! :) Happy Holidays to you all!

Better late than never.....

So, these pictures were a long time coming now that Dylan is 2 1/2 months old. It was a joy to get them in and see how much he has changed since these were taken when he was 12 days old. I love them and can't wait to put them up in our living room. I am doing a gallery style collection of them in all black frames! They just melt my heart, especially this first one. Doesn't it make you smile? :)

Dylan's new trick is kicking his toys and talking to them on his activity gym. He started this on November 7 and he thinks its pretty fun. One of the toys plays a little song when he kicks it just right. He then starts talking back to it. It is so much fun to watch him grow! He weighed 10 lbs. 15 oz. at his 2 month check up and is 23 1/4 inches long!

Dylan's 2 Month Milestones:

-You have started talking to mommy, daddy, and anyone else that will talk to you! That sweet little mouth moves all over the place, and those cooes make us smile. You seem to think your pretty cool also, because you smile afterwards like you have accomplished a lot! (you have!)

-You found your tongue! Yesterday, I stuck my tongue out like a lizard and you copied me twice. We are such proud parents!

-You now rub your eyes when you get sleepy.

-You like going to sleep with your lovey (security blanket).

-You prefer that mommy be the one to rock you to sleep, but you love to see Daddy when he gets home from work!

-You are getting more blonde hair on that sweet little head!

-You are such a SMILING BOY! We see both of those dimples quite often because you love to smile!

-You graduated to size 1 diapers! :)
