Our first 10k! {EPIC!}

Jonathan and I have been training the past few months for our first 10k. It was part of the Little Rock Marathon. We are easing ourselves into this running gig and actually learning that we enjoy it! I think Jonathan has been most surprised that he likes it!
The conditions were horrible! It was about 55 at start time but quickly dropping to 40 as the race began! It was also raining and windy! How's that for our first race together!
I could see him in front of me for about 3 miles, then I lost him. He did great! His splits were awesome and he is ready to train for the half marathon next year!
My splits were not my best, but I finished strong, running the entire race and kicking it up the last 1/2 mile.
It was "epic" to do this together. I love doing things with him. I never thought I would be running 6.2 miles in a race and thinking ahead to the half marathon (13.1) next year! It's a great way to stay in shape, and I love how much our boys enjoy seeing us active!
Here's to continuing to let the running bug "bite" us as we keep on going!

Ski Bunnies {Park City, Utah}

We were invited by one of Jonathan's electrical distributors to go snow skiing in Park City, Utah. We hadn't been before and were super excited to give it a try!
The first day we got there we had a snow mobile adventure scheduled for the afternoon. It was so much fun!
I was in awe of the beauty of this part of the country.  I am always amazed at His grand creation.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19:1
From this lookout, you can see Wyoming in the distance, a mere 65 miles away.
I had the best snow mobile driver!

We enjoyed supper at the Seafood buffet at Deer Valley Resort. I ate way too much shrimp! Yum!
Ski school on Sunday morning.
Post ski school lunch at Legends.
Not pictured: Myself and another one of the wives at the condo for the afternoon. Skiing proved to be much more difficult than I had ever imagined. I fell twice that morning, which is common for newbies. But I just wasn't sure this was for me! I was a bit discouraged and scared of the speed, falling, and injuring myself, so we decided to go clean up and maybe shop the afternoon.
The hubs stayed and got GOOD! :) We walked down to Main St. before dinner and had a lot of fun shopping. Great shops and atmosphere! I fell in love with Dolly's Bookstore and Olive & Tweed boutique! Dinner at PRIME Steakhouse was amazing!
Second ski day: Mama did good, too! I guess I needed an afternoon off to let all that ski school knowledge soak in. Ha! I figured out how to stop well, turn, and slowly glide myself down the mountain. I never tried to go fast. Slow and steady was my race! Pizza, pizza, pizza those skis down the mountain!
I skied all day. I think I took 15 runs down the mountain and only fell once!
Most of all, I enjoyed some quality-no kids time with Jonathan. You gotta do that ever so often!
Our final dinner was at J&G Grill at St. Regis. You took a funicular (cable railway) up the side of the mountain to the restaurant. Our meal was amazing, but this view was so cool!
I am thankful we were able to have this long weekend together. Jonathan really took to skiing and is already talking about going back with (and without) the boys! Lol
