What a Whirlwind!

The past two weeks have been absolutely crazy! We have been trying to get all of our "traveling" in by the end of May and it just so happened that we did it all in 2 WEEKS! :) It was all fun, but I am truly ready to settle down and get Dylan's room ready for him. Here is a run down of what's been going on with us.....

"When the Sun Goes Down We'll Be Groovin..."
We went to see Kenny Chesney May16 with Kevin and Susan Koone. Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert opened up for him. We had great seats, 14 rows up from the floor (thanks Aunt Linda!). It was INCREDIBLY loud, but a fun place to be for almost 4 hours.

Sun, Sand, and Shopping!
We took our annual beach trip with Jonathan's family a little early this year. I guess that is my fault, but it was nice because we seemed to beat the normal summer rush. The group was: Jonathan and myself, his parents, his Aunt Judy, and the Leckbee's (basically more family). We did most of our "sunning" on the back deck of our house because the wind down on the beach caused huge sandblasts that didn't feel to good while we were trying to layout. Our top 4 restaurants in Gulf Shores: 1)Bahama Bob's 2) The Hangout 3) Sea n Suds 4)The Beach Club (where we ate before we got engaged, kinda dressy, awesome food). We ate great food, and bought WAY TOO MUCH stuff for Dylan!

Yes, the maternity tankini exists, it is what it is. :)

"Who Loves You Pretty Baby..."

After returning from Gulf Shores on Saturday, I left on Tuesday to fly to Atlanta to visit my childhood friend, Janell Stewart. We have been friends since we were 3 years old! She moved to Atlanta 8 years ago, and this is the second time I've been to see her. We realized we both love the Broadway show Jersey Boys:The Story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I got to see the show in NYC soon after it opened 4 years ago, and now its touring the U.S. She asked me to come see it, and we went Wednesday night with her mom to the show. Great show, great 2nd row seats, great fun! I enjoyed the laid back trip and came home on Thursday.

Janell thought she should be "preggers" too!

Back to Reality...
Now its time to kick things in gear and get ready for Dylan. The room will be painted the beginning of this week, and the crib should be here this week as well. I can tell he is growing and getting longer, because now when he moves it happens on both sides of my belly button! Its so much fun to see him wiggling around in there! I guess that is all for now. I am in my 27th week and still feeling good. My hips occasionally get sore at night, so that lets me know its time for another visit to my chiropractor. Oh what a saving grace that is for me! Hope this hasn't been too overwhelming. I was way overdue on a post! Enjoy the sunny days of summer! :)

It's Official!

Dylan Thomas Rogers will arrive with a name in tow!
We made it official yesterday by sending out a text message to a few family and friends. We figured once again, they can do the rest by sharing with others. So why this name? Thomas is Jonathan's middle name, and we just liked Dylan. We used it for several weeks between the two of us, and it just fits! :)

I am beginning my 25th week of pregnancy and this week, Dylan will weigh in at 1 1/2 pounds! He is 9 inches long, and is beginning to take practice "breaths." His vocal cords are functioning now, leading to occasional hiccups.

We leave for the beach on Sunday morning and WE CAN'T WAIT! I am excited to do some outlet shopping for Dylan. They have Gymboree, Gap Kids, Children's Place, Polo, etc. It could get ugly! :)

We have quite the busy month of May. After that, we will be home bound as I tell people "for a LONG time!" That is just fine with us, we couldn't be more thrilled!

Celebrating Moms

It was a great Sunday, even with the rain, to celebrate moms. Jonathan spoiled me on my first "Mother-to-be" Mother's Day. :) We ate lunch with the family after church at my sisters house, came home, watched golf, took naps, and went to see Jonathan's grandmother at the nursing home. It was a nice weekend to spend with family.

All That Baby Stuff!

We had a checkup yesterday. I have just completed 23 weeks and everything looks good! I knew there was some growing going on, because I measured 3 1/2 cm bigger than last time. That was exciting! When Dr. Deed used the doppler to find my heartbeat, I guess he didn't like the noise from the doppler and proceeded to kick at it. We all laughed, because right in the middle of the whoosh of the heartbeat you hear a big ole' THUMP!

Man, I know a baby requires a lot of stuff, but we went to register after our appointment, and I have to say that at times we were overwhelmed. 500 types of bottles, pacifiers, play pens, swings, crib sheets, bathtubs, etc, etc, etc. We went to Babies R Us first, then to supper at On the Border (yum!), and then to Target. We plan to go to Pickles & Ice Cream also. Its a little boutique baby shop on Rodney Parham that has some neat unique stuff.

On a different note, Congratulations to Kris Allen on making it to the top 3 of American Idol. He is our own, from Conway, and a part of New Life Church. We have been watching Idol to see his success. He is in AR this weekend doing concerts in LR and Conway. Being the nerd I am, I kinda wanted to go to his LR concert today at lunch, but probably won't end up doing it. Hope he continues to do well. Go Kris!

Baby facts for the week: he weighs 1 1/2 lbs., face almost formed with a full set of eyelashes and eyebrows, he is the size of a standard letter you mail :)
Happy Mother's Day to all!

I Can See You!

As all you you have figured out, this blog seems to revolve around our little boy, so hear is what's new this week....

I just finished 22 weeks of pregnancy! It is very hard to believe the the weeks remaining are less than the weeks completed. I am very anxious to go see the doctor on May 7th because I know that he is growing and I am just so curious what my belly measures these days! Yesterday morning, I watched him move. It was wonderful and weird all at the same time. Just to SEE him thumping inside is amazing. I got to talk to a dear college friend yesterday, Kelly, who is know married and living in Houston. It was great to catch up with her. The month of May looks like it will be a busy one. Jonathan is ready for the beach and I am ready for him to get a stress-free break! That is usually the one time a year where he truly can relax. He has been really working hard lately. Even more so than his normal, so we all know its hectic. I am going to our Ladies Retreat at church this weekend. It's my first one to go to. I am looking forward to it, but hoping I can sleep well!

Baby facts for the week:

He is about 8 inches long, a little over a pound, and will double his weight by the end of this month! Wow! Here is a picture of me from yesterday, the start of my 23rd week!
